The Ellison Hotel and Milo restaurant’s remediation is well underway!!
We continue to evaluate, clean and test all systems, surfaces and goods. In addition, our team gathers to serve the community and trains to uphold our pillars of service.

The Ellison Hotel Closed Until Spring 2022 for Smoke Remediation
OKLAHOMA CITY, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – The Ellison Hotel and its restaurant, Milo, are temporarily closed due to the impact of smoke from last week’s fire at the new neighboring apartment complex, The Canton at Classen Curve.
The Ellison, located at 6201 North Western Avenue, had just opened their restaurant, Milo, in November 2021, followed by the hotel opening a couple weeks later in December. The hotel was at full capacity the night of the fire and all guests and hotel associates were safely evacuated.
“We are grateful that no one was hurt last week and that emergency protocols were in place for something like this. We responded immediately to relocate our guests, all of whom were very understanding,” Matt Cowden, general manager. “Our main concerns now are the safety and security of our associates and guests. We have already begun the extensive smoke remediation to reopen the hotel and Milo as soon as is safely possible.”
The Ellison is Marriott’s first Oklahoma hotel within its Tribute Portfolio brand, which focuses on independent boutique hotels rooted in local culture. The 75,000 square-foot luxury hotel features 120 guest rooms, the Milo restaurant, 3,752 square feet of meeting spaces, and a rooftop swimming pool and bar.
“We were just ramping up, hosting guests in an environment that celebrates food, art and culture – with a full week ahead for Valentine’s Day,” Carrie Parker, director of sales and marketing. “We’re now shifting focus to ensuring The Ellison and Milo will continue to uphold the high standards we’ve been providing since the property first opened.”
Marriott is offering reservations online in connection with The Ellison’s plans to reopen in the spring of 2022, but the exact date will be determined as crews complete their work.
“The remediation process is comprehensive with numerous entities coordinating logistics to ensure the hotel returns to its brand-new state. As we hit milestones for this process, we’ll know more specifics about the reopening date in the coming days,” Cowden said.
