Oklahoma City, OK – May 5, 2025
Some roads are built to get you from point A to point B. Others are built for exploring, with miles of stories along the way. Route 66 decidedly falls into the latter category.
Winding cross-country from Chicago to Santa Monica, Route 66 has remained one of the most iconic highways in American lore since its establishment in 1926. The Mother Road is home to Americana charm, countless cultural stops, and is the birthplace of the great American road trip. While the road has taken many forms over the years, the original Beltline 1931 route passes just outside our doors at The Ellison, A Tribute Portfolio hotel—the perfect pit stop along your journey.
A Story to Tell Along Route 66
At The Ellison, every stay introduces you to the elements of a great story: creativity, character, and a fresh perspective. In that spirit, a stay at The Ellison is a stay on one of America’s most storied paths.
More than 400 miles of Route 66 stretch across Oklahoma, each mile dotted with legends and landmarks. And now, thanks to the Oklahoma Route 66 Passport program, travelers can digitally check in at curated stops across the state. Once you’ve received all your stamps, you can take your passport to the Tourism Information Center to receive a free collectible Route 66 coin. Two of those passport stops are located right here at The Ellison: one for the hotel, and another for the on-site restaurant, Milo.
Map Your Path
Each guest room includes a curated in-room map—complete with local recommendations and a playful quiz to help you discover the OKC district that best matches your personality. Think of it as your key to the city while you’re here. That map also traces Route 66 through the heart of Oklahoma City—and just beyond our doors—along Western Avenue.
So whether you’re here for one night or a lot longer, your in-room map will help you plan for cultural sites and local adventures along historic Route 66.
Stop by Milo for a Stamp—and a Story
While you’re here, be sure to stop in at Milo, our in-house restaurant located on the first floor. At Milo, you’ll find a taste of Oklahoma heritage and a neighborhood gathering spot known for its locally inspired flavors and craft cocktails.
As of 2025, Milo is an official passport stop for the Route 66 Passport program.
To collect your stamp, simply download the TravelOK Trip Planner app from the App Store or Google Play. Every participating location has a unique code you can enter to check in digitally. Complete one whole section (Eastern, Central, or Western) to earn a Route 66 magnet. Once you complete all three, you’ll get a limited-edition Route 66 collectible coin to remember your journey.
Your Home Base
Set in Oklahoma City’s beloved Western Avenue corridor, The Ellison is a place where art and stories meet the genuine warmth of life in Oklahoma. As part of Tribute Portfolio, we’re independent in spirit and deeply connected to place. From book-lined walls to story-worthy cocktails, we believe a hotel should be more than a stop—it should be your home base for wherever your adventures (or road trips) take you.
Plot your course and stay in character along Route 66—we’re here for the journey.
