Arcadia-Route 66 Beach Festival
Cheer for the world’s top elite athletes as they compete in fast-paced “Run-Row-Run” (50-yard run – 250-meter row – 50-yard run) races while enjoying food trucks, beach games and live music. This high-intensity, “bite-sized” sports experience features a sand sprint, a slalom row and a final sprint to a beach finish line. Single and double races last 3-4 minutes each. Beach Sprints are to rowing like pickleball is to tennis: easy to learn and more accessible. They bring the sport to all bodies of water, both inland and coastal. Beach Sprint Festivals have generated excitement abroad and this will be the first one in the United States.

And don’t forget to stick around for the Crit at Cycle 66 when we return to Downtown Edmond.
“We are excited about the Route 66 Centennial Cycle 66 ride with new routes for an amazing opportunity to explore more miles of iconic Route 66, along with some roads many cyclists may have never ridden before,” said Cycle 66 Ride Director Jason Duncan. Local police keep streets safe for cyclists.
Duncan said all five route details and maps, including for the 18-, 33-, 66-, 100 and a 1-mile Kids’ distances, can be found at www.Cycle66ok.com.
In addition to the non-timed distance tours, Cycle 66 also offers fast-paced criterium races, called the Crit @ Cycle 66, in downtown Edmond, from 9 am to 3 pm.
“Edmond has a USA Cycling-sanctioned Oklahoma Skills-Based Criterium this year,” said Tony Steward, Cycle 66 Race Director. “Whether you’re a cyclist who wants to participate, or you’ve never ridden a bike, the Crit @ Cycle 66 offers an exciting opportunity to see some of this region’s best cyclists pedal their way to victory. It’s fast, furious competition, and we invite the public to come cheer on the cyclists while they enjoy brunch or beer in our beautiful downtown.”
